For this year, a total of five wonderful faces will be the centre point of our campaign. Behind these faces are beautiful stories that we love to share with you. We sat down with campaign model Aryelle and asked her about her drives and dreams.
“We must find a way to bridge that gap to co-exist in one space.”
“My moral standard drives me in terms of what I see as equal, acceptance and equality. I have a strong need to be an advocate for LGBTQI+ people of colour. When we talk about inclusivity, we are not always truly inclusive. The barriers are up, and they need to continuously be broken to have equal opportunity, development and growth. I am motivated to see at what point I can break those barriers myself.
I’ve had the chance to do that by showing my talent to a larger percentage of the entire alphabet together with straight people. We must find a way to bridge that gap to co-exist in one space. We may not have passion for the same activities, but we can have them all in one space where everyone can participate, feel comfortable, welcomed and accepted."
“Everyone needs to receive admiration for themselves, not for what they have or what they do but for who they are. – that is pure acceptance”
"Milkshake to me means liberation and freedom of access to do what you love; it's a festival of love after all. This kind of exposure in the entertainment world is a gateway into a bigger, more accessible world.
I recognize that being on stage changed people’s perspectives of me. I have felt all the looks of admiration from the crowd for being me on stage, more than who I was as a member of the audience. We need to admire individuals no matter what circumstance, space, the event you see them at; on stage or off stage, performer or not, you are supposed to look at that individual in the way you look at any performer."
“Be yourself, don’t just exist, take up the space and own it”
"Everyone has a talent. For some, it doesn't lie in performance, but everyone needs to receive admiration for themselves, not for what they have or what they do but for who they are. That is pure acceptance. Be yourself, don’t just exist, take up the space and own it.”
