Milkshake Festival is an open-minded electronic dance festival for all who love and takes place yearly in the city centre of Amsterdam since 2012. Milkshake shows that entertainment, music choice, choice of clothing have nothing to do with status, gender or sexuality. In previous years there have been 11 stages per day that showcase (inter)national event organizations, artists, and performance artists. The most played genres are electronic, house, disco, pop, techno, R&B, and dancehall.
Our intention is to create and give a platform to artists and performance artists, that support (or belong to) underrepresented community’s in our society. Life is a party thanks to the great diversity of skin colors, body shapes, sexual preferences, and gender identities. Thick, thin, small, large, gay, straight, trans, black, white, and everyone in between: ‘People are the salt of the earth and this is what we celebrate!'

Bought a ticket, when will I receive it?
All tickets will be sent out to the main buyers on 25th of July. They should receive from Paylogic in their inbox with the link to download the tickets. Make sure to check the spam inbox as well!

Age
The festival is for people aged 18 and up.
ID
Before entering, the festival security can ask for your identification to check your age. Please note that a copy of your identification document will not be accepted as a valid identification document. When purchasing your tickets for Milkshake Festival you can use your chosen name.
Accepted payment
At Milkshake you can pay directly with your debit card (Maestro) or a credit card (Visa/Mastercard) at the bar, food points, the merchandise stand et cetera.
Food & drinks
Milkshake is a 100% vegetarian festival. Our food trucks serve all kinds of delicious food options. Think burgers, sandwiches, wood-oven pizzas, organic fries, Indian, Mexican, Asian cuisine, sweet and savory crepes, smoothies, ice cream, fruit, cocktails and a lot more!
Are you on a special diet? No problem! We serve lots of, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
It’s prohibited to bring your own food & drinks to the festival.
What can I bring
You’re allowed to bring inflatable animals, dress suits, empty camel bags, personal cameras, condoms, go-pros, selfie sticks (when folded), cigarettes, roll-on deodorant (no spray cans!), foldable umbrellas, and chargers. E-bike batteries are allowed only when put in a locker.
What can't I bring
Your safety is extremely important to us. Therefore, everything and everyone is searched at the entrance (including luggage). Do you have something with you that is not on our ‘allowed list’? Then we’ll throw it away. Pay attention! In some cases, access to the site of the festival may be denied.
You’re not allowed to bring weapons, sharp or hard objects, glass and fluids.
Due to safety reasons, you’re not allowed to bring nitrous oxide.
E-bike batteries are allowed only when put in a locker.
Taking pictures at the festival
When entering the festival, you give permission to be photographed by our photographers. You’re not allowed to bring your own professional equipment.
Bad weather
In case of bad and wet weather there will be rain capes available. Approximately half of the festival area is covered by tents. The other half is not.
Zero tolerance
All festivals in the Netherlands operate under a governmental ‘zero-tolerance policy’. This means that no soft- drugs or hard drugs are allowed. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is also not allowed on the festival and camping terrain.

Milkshake festival will take place at Westergas, Amsterdam.
Upon arrival, please follow the signs towards the festival entrance. In case of a traffic diversion, please follow instructions provided by the stewards.
We encourage all visitors to come bike and public transport. The festival is easy to reach.
Coming by public transport?
Easiest is to check Google maps and select transit or go to 9292 and select your starting point and Westerpark.
Coming by bike or scooter?
Bikes & scooters can be parked at the Kanaalpromonade near the Gashoudervijver and the Marktplein. Both parking spaces can be found near the festival entrance. The parking is unguarded. Avoid the crowds and save the planet, come by bike!
After all the above still want to come by car?
If you still decide to come by car, Milkshake visitors can park their car at Transformatorweg, follow the parking signs. These are regular unguarded parking places, and it’s first come first serve. On Saturday and Sunday there is no fee. From the Transformatorweg it is a +/- 20 minute walk to the festival entrance. Follow the signs to the festival entrance.
We aim for Milkshake festival to be a positive experience for everyone. Here you can read all about accessibility, extra care facilities and how we create a safer space for everyone.
Accessibility
The main paths to and at the festival are paved surfaces. The rest of the site consists of a grass surface.
The roads at the festival are equipped with road plates and ramps that lead to the stages and facilities. Most stages also have a surface consisting of road plates.
At the main stages, special spots have been reserved for wheelchair users and people with walking difficulties.
Certain areas on the festival site may have a slight slope, but generally, the festival is located on ground level. The festival tents will be accessible by wheelchair ramps.
WesterUnie is accessible by stairs only, but security is instructed to assist anyone who needs help getting up te stairs.
The festival site is equipped with three toilet groups distributed throughout the area. Each toilet group includes a designated accessible wheelchair toilet. By default, the door to this toilet is locked to maintain cleanliness and accessibility. The toilet staff is readily identifiable and can unlock the facility for you. If you require assistance, please feel free to approach our staff members, and don't hesitate to ask for help.
Before the festival, we work with HandicapNL to try make the festival as accessible as possible. HandicapNL is also present during the festival and can be found next to the first aid station.
Almost all bars at the festival have an area that is specially equipped for visitors who use a wheelchair or have difficulty walking. These bars have lowered dispensing points and lowered listings. These order and pickup points can be found at the short end of the bars. The bars with these special provisions are indicated on the floorplan.

Care
There is always a First Aid station available. Feel free to contact them if you need any medical assistance or have any other questions.
Need to bring medication? Please make sure you bring a doctors note to avoid problems with security.
Feeling overwhelmed? No worries, we created a low stimilus room for you to take a moment and recharge, this room can be found at the first aid stand.
Ear plugs will be available at the merchandise and market stands.

Safer Space
Queerwatch is our awareness team and care unit. Present at the festival in case you need any help, feel anxious are unwell or want a time out. You can find posters of Queerwatch on every toilet. If you need help you can text the number on the poster and someone will come and help you.
Milkshake is a lot, a lot of fun, but still a lot. For our trans visitors we have created the Trans Chill Out. Here you will be able to find your peers and get a little love and understanding. Our friends from Trans United will be there to support and advise you. The Trans Chill Out will also have dressing rooms for you to change on site.

It is okay to disagree, but we do not allow personal attacks, harassment or threats. This includes crew, artists, performers and Milkshake visitors.
Comments targeting individuals are strictly prohibited. This includes Milkshake crew members.
Consequences of violating the rules
If a comment violates these rules, the Milkshake social team has the right to remove the comment.
Users who repeatedly ignore these guidelines may have their commenting restricted or be blocked from our page.
In extreme cases, hate speech or threats may be reported to the platform or local authorities.
